TLC - June 2016

Dear Friend of TLC,

Recently, my precious 8-year-old daughter snuggled up to me in bed and pleaded,"Mommy, can you help me stop picking at my skin and biting my nails?"

I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me.

I knew she'd been picking and biting, but the depth of her misery and her innocent cry for help were devastating.  I've already been working on the BFRB issue for twenty years. I've worked for my own recovery and for the recovery of others. I know the struggle.

Although we've made a lot of progress, we don't have consistently effective treatments. I want better answers for my daughter -- for all our children.

TLC is the safe place where all of us can turn for help and support.  You are one of the dedicated donors who make this possible.  Thank you.

I hope you will again give as generously as you can, as much as is comfortable, to our mid-year
campaign this month to create better answers for our children and ourselves. Together we are strong.

With love and gratitude,
Jennifer Raikes
Executive Director
